Radio Silence on Vega Nine

In 1962, a battered survey ship returns from Vega Nine with empty logbooks and hollow eyes. Radiation charts don't match the crew's cheerful reports. The men claim they never set foot on the forbidden planet — but a hushbound agency has clipped their recollections with magnetic coils and reel-to-reel erasers. A hardbitten reporter and a disgraced physiologist follow vacuum-tube leads through Cold War bureaucracy, exposing a conspiracy to sterilize memory and bury whatever terrible intelligence Vega Nine demanded be forgotten.
