A charismatic Lightning Cult, worshipping the new “Thunder God” and armed with improvised Tesla coils, believes ritual storms will cleanse the world — each summoned bolt accelerating the crisis. A bespectacled professor, a brazen newsreel reporter and a patriotic engineer race against time, vacuum‑tube radios crackling with urgent bulletins, to halt fanaticism and stabilize the planet before the Atomic Age becomes literal annihilation.
