The intrepid Professor Hale and his cinema-star assistant, Lila Trent, unearth an ivory scarab that awakens the pharaoh's clockwork guardians—brass automatons of uncanny purpose. Built by a forgotten dynasty and polished by a modern inventor, the mechanical men turn from protectors into rebels, locking the tomb with merciless booby traps: rolling stone slabs, collapsing corridors, and electrically-triggered dart vents.
