Asphalt Republic: Highway Patrol
As the nation builds gleaming superhighways, a new constabulary — the Highway Patrol — becomes an unblinking arm of order. In 1955's Asphalt Republic: Highway Patrol, veteran sergeant Tom Keene races through neon-lit interstates enforcing curfews, checkpoints and radio-swept speed zones. Citizens trade freedom for safety; hook-lipped radios and clattering radar boxes map every car. When a young couple refuses inspection, Keene faces a choice: uphold irreversible surveillance or ignite a roadside rebellion. A Cold War parable of chrome, conformity and engines — the road becomes a cage.
